Lifelong Memories Grow Here

Two Student Outside During Summer Evening at Wolf Ridge

Give Your Child a Summer of Adventure at Wolf Ridge!

This summer, let your child explore 2,000 acres of breathtaking wilderness in northern Minnesota—a place where curiosity thrives, friendships grow, and memories are made to last a lifetime.

At Wolf Ridge Camp, we offer age-specific adventures for K-12 students:

  • Younger Campers: Day camps or short overnight stays introduce the joys of camp in a nurturing environment.
  • Older Campers: Traditional sleepaway camps foster independence, teamwork, and adventure.
  • High Schoolers: Wilderness trips immerse teens in outdoor challenges and exploration.

Every camp combines classic fun with meaningful learning: campfires, crafts, and games meet all-day adventures, skill-building, and thrilling activities like rock climbing and ropes courses.

With rotating activities every year, each summer brings new excitement—whether it’s their first time or their fifth.

Give your child a summer of exploration, growth, and unforgettable fun at Wolf Ridge!

Camp counselors serve as vital mentors & role models.

All counselors and summer staff go through a two-week staff development program before stepping into their roles. Many come back summer after summer from all over the world to work at Wolf Ridge. Are you ready to make an impact?

“It is worth every penny. While you may be nervous to send your child off to camp the counselors do an amazing job making the kids feel comfortable and independent. My kids always come home with new skills.”

Wolf Ridge is regularly reviewing and updating our COVID-19 health and safety practices for the safety of our students, staff, and visitors.

We cannot predict the COVID conditions in society so far in advance but we are planning that our risk management would not require anything stricter than our Summer 2022 protocols: campers needed to arrive with either proof of vaccination OR a negative test result. As summer nears, Wolf Ridge will consult with camp industry leaders as well as county and state health officials to make decisions regarding management of COVID and associated behavioral expectations of our campers.

We’re located in Finland, Minnesota, on Minnesota’s scenic North Shore. Our campus is approximately four hours from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International airport and two hours from the Canadian border. Our main campus is a 10-minute drive from Lake Superior.

All summer youth Wolf Ridge campers stay in our Summit Lodge.

Each room features its own bathroom and shower, bunks beds, and camper gear cubbies. Camp staff also live in the dorm, with one counselor per room. There are cozy gathering spaces for game playing during downtime, plus a grass field just out the door.

Kids and staff gather at the nearby campfire ring before meals to sing songs, share stories of their adventures, and learn what the next part of the day will bring.

The Summit Lodge is the perfect place to grow the deep, closely-knit community that makes camp so special.

Every camper is guaranteed two roommate requests, as long as they follow the proper procedures. Please understand in making roommate requests, families need to follow these guidelines:

  • Each camper may only request up to two other campers.
  • All campers must request each other.
  • All campers must be of the same gender and in the same group (i.e. Discoverers, Voyageurs, etc).
  • Both requests must be made during the registration process or in an email to the camp director at least three weeks before the start of the session.
  • Please understand it is very challenging to make changes to rooming assignments during check-in, so please plan in advance.

All participants are placed in a room based upon the gender with which they identify. Please see our campus policies to learn more.

Meals are served cafeteria-style in our dining hall at 7:45 am, 12:15  pm, and 5:15 pm.

Whether they’re coming in from a long day outside or getting ready for the day, campers will satisfy their appetites with our choice-driven, healthy, hearty meals. Most of our produce comes from the Wolf Ridge Organic Farm, while meats and other products are sourced as locally as possible.

Snacks are served each night during storytime from 9:00 to 9:30 pm. Examples of snacks are granola bars, fresh fruit or cheese, and crackers.

The Wolf Ridge kitchen provides for the following special dietary needs:

  • Vegetarian/vegan
  • Food allergies or sensitivity
  • Diabetic
  • Gluten-free
  • Religious requirements

Our kitchen and Dining Halls are peanut- and tree nut-free. We substitute sunbutter for these products in our condiment line. Please note dietary requests, concerns, and preferences when completing camp registration materials.

Our buildings are fully accessible, but our campus terrain varies. The trails on our main campus at the top of the ridge are suitable for all-terrain wheelchairs. To provide access to the rest of campus, we have equipment available to provide the best possible experience for everyone. Please let us know ahead of time if your students might need to utilize our accessibility equipment.

Each group of 12 campers has two counselors and one naturalist. This ratio of one staff person for every four campers assures plenty of individual attention. Two staff members are present during all activities.

We recommend that your child powers down and takes a break from the world of electronics. We recommend that campers leave all electronics at home (except cameras). We do not allow cell phones at camp.

We offer a variety of scholarships and discounts for campers each year.

At the time of registration, a $150 non-refundable deposit must be made to hold your camper’s spot. This $150 is then applied to the balance of the camp payment. Refund requests must be made in writing and received no later than two weeks prior to the start of the camp session. All cancellations made less than two weeks prior to the start of the camp session are non-refundable. There is no refund for transportation costs.
