Wolf Ridge: A Global Leader in Environmental Education
Since 1971, Wolf Ridge has been at the forefront of environmental education, becoming the first environmental learning center in the U.S. to be accredited as a K-12 school. Our experienced naturalists work with school groups to provide immersive, hands-on learning in the great outdoors. With over 50 fully-accredited classes offered year-round, we inspire students to develop a deeper awareness, curiosity, and respect for the natural world.
School Group Trips & Experiences
K-12 Class Visits
Part field trip, part overnight camp, schools travel to Wolf Ridge to stay in our dorms and take classes on our 2,000-acre campus. Choose from 50+ experiential lessons designed to meet state standards.
Virtual Field Trips
We offer live, virtual field trips for any kind of classroom. Each class is customized to fit your needs. Our naturalists can work with you to integrate features of your local ecosystem into the lesson plan.
Education & Training for Educators
Graduate Program
Our 10-month immersive graduate program will train you to be an environmental educator. Students live together, teach at Wolf Ridge, and earn 12 credits from Antioch University.
Teacher Institute
Do you want to bring environmental education into your K-12 classroom? Our teacher institute provides mentorship, training, and continuing education credit. The experience includes a capstone week at Wolf Ridge.
Adventures in Learning
Our downloadable lesson plans meet Minnesota State Academic Standards and are backed by Wolf Ridge’s accreditation as a K-12 school.
