Galls, burls, and brooms! Oh my! This workshop will focus on exploring the Lilliputian world of galls, burls, and brooms as well as the plants they grow on.
Do you look for interesting rocks on every beach or gravel road and want to discover their story? Are you an agate or Thomsonite seeker? Do you wonder about all those rock faces you see as you drive heading north on Highway 61?
We plan to teach you about the many different kinds of agates found on our near the shores of Lake Superior. Have you heard of eye agates? Skip an Atom Agates? How about Water Level or Paint Agates?
Have you ever wondered why some wood turns blue when it rots? Or where all the dead leaves go after each autumn? Or what the moldy cheese in the back corner of your fridge drawer has to do with climate change?
