Discoverers Camp is the perfect introduction to Wolf Ridge! First-time campers build confidence, independence, and outdoor skills while enjoying hiking, swimming, ropes courses, and hands-on nature adventures.
Give your high schooler an unforgettable wilderness experience in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness with Wolf Ridge. Teens will paddle pristine lakes, learn essential outdoor skills like bird and tree identification, camp cooking, and backcountry survival, and participate in Wolf Ridge campus activities such as adventure ropes courses, wild edibles foraging, and hands-on geology lessons. This immersive experience fosters confidence, leadership, and lifelong friendships, all while exploring one of the country’s most beautiful wilderness areas.
Since 1993, Wolf Ridge has hosted a long-term international study of migratory songbirds. Visitors can watch the banding process, learn about bird research, and observe these beautiful birds up close. Sessions are held on summer mornings at the Forest Ecology Building, free and open to all ages. Banding is canceled on rainy days.
At Wolf Ridge’s Adventurers Camp, campers explore the outdoors through canoeing, nature study, and teamwork—gaining confidence and lasting memories.
Girls Rock the Ridge at Wolf Ridge helps grades 6-7 campers build confidence, leadership, and practical outdoor skills through ropes courses, team games, and a Superior Hiking Trail adventure.
Rocks, Paddles, and Trails Camp at Wolf Ridge gives grades 8-9 campers an adventure-packed week of rock climbing, hiking, and a canoe trip—building confidence, skills, and friendships along the way.
Experience a week of adventure at Wolf Ridge with our High School Outdoor Recreation Camp for grades 10–12. Teens will develop skills in paddling, rock climbing, hiking, and other outdoor activities while enjoying the scenic North Shore. This immersive, adventure-focused program encourages physical activity, outdoor skill-building, and a lasting love for recreation and nature.
Campers will expand their outdoor skills, hike the Superior Trail, tackle the Adventure Ropes course, enjoy swimming, and build friendships in a safe, adventurous environment.

Embark on an epic teen adventure with Wolf Ridge at Isle Royale National Park! Grades 9–12 will hike 5–8 miles daily through old-growth forests, take in stunning Lake Superior views, and spot wildlife like moose in their natural habitat. Campers build essential backcountry skills, gain confidence, and enjoy Wolf Ridge activities like rock climbing, survival training, and adventure courses. This unforgettable summer experience combines wilderness exploration, skill-building, and lifelong memories in one incredible journey.
