Donald Weesner was an advocate and philanthropist for connecting people to the outdoors. A charitable trust, administered by the Eaton Family, was established to promote the founder’s lifelong commitment to preserving the Minnesota communities’ natural ecosystems and historical legacy.
For more than 20 years the Eaton Family has enabled a higher quality of learning at Wolf Ridge through funding equipment for hands-on learning outdoors.
Knowing the importance of resilient structures and how the built environment can support learning outdoors their support, they made possible the creation of Weesner Commons in the award-winning Margaret A. Cargill Lodge, a large central gathering space that will serve adults and children visiting Wolf Ridge for many generations to come.
