Discover Wolf Ridge
Located on a high ridge overlooking Lake Superior, Wolf Ridge is bordered by the Baptism River and features creeks, two lakes, two high peaks, 18 miles of hiking and ski trails, and a mixed forest of maple, birch, and spruce. Wildlife is abundant and includes pine marten, eagles, moose, black bear, white-tailed deer, fox, wolves, beaver, peregrine falcons, and loons.
Facilities include four classroom buildings, two dormitories, a dining hall, a working organic farm, a raptor aviary, a library, two auditoriums, two indoor rock-climbing walls, two outdoor ropes courses, and an administration building.
We’re located in Finland, Minnesota, four hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul International airport and two hours from the Canadian border. Our 2,000-acre campus in Finland, Minnesota is an easy drive to some of Minnesota’s most popular State Parks, including Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, and Tettegouche.
Dining & Meals
We offer chef-planned dishes in our cafeteria, just a few steps away from where retreats take place.
Our from-scratch vegetarian and meat dishes are available at each meal, and ingredients come from local sources whenever possible, including the organic farm located on our campus.
The Wolf Ridge kitchen can provide for most dietary needs with advanced notice.
Lodging
Meeting and lodging spaces are both located in the Margaret A. Cargill Lodge.
We have 25 rooms that sleep between four to eight people on top and bottom bunks. Many of the eight-person rooms have a sliding “barn door” that can be used to create a private suite with a bath/shower area shared by one other person.
Beds are twin-sized bunk beds with linen provided, but guests bring their own toiletries. Handicapped-accessible rooms are available.
The Margaret A. Cargill Lodge
Our retreat space is located in the award-winning Margaret A. Cargill (MAC) Lodge, the first renovation in the world to receive Living Building Certification, the highest environmental certification in the world.
The MAC Lodge has five common rooms furnished with comfortable seating areas, table space, and a small kitchenette with a microwave, cupboard storage space, and a refrigerator. A deck on the backside of the building provides access to views of the beautiful Sawmill Creek Valley.
