School Trips & Experiences
Part field trip, part overnight camp, Wolf Ridge is a fully accredited residential campus with trained naturalists available to lead 50+ hands-on outdoor lessons. Our curriculum aligns with Minnesota Academic Standards. Looking for an experience in your own classroom? We offer live virtual field trips with lessons customized to fit your curriculum and connect with your local ecosystem.
Educator Training
Gain the skills needed to be an effective environmental educator with support from seasoned naturalists at an internationally recognized environmental learning center. From a 10-month immersive graduate naturalist program to continuing education through our teacher institute, Wolf Ridge trains teachers to take their students outside and incorporate what they’ve learned into their own classroom.
Youth Summer Programs
Wolf Ridge summer camp for K–12 students provides developmentally appropriate experiences ranging from short overnight stays to full-week immersive programs on our 2,000-acre campus, including a variety of specialty camps focused on specific interests and skills. Guided by experienced naturalists, students build confidence, curiosity, and outdoor skills. Campers may attend traditional sleepaway camps, participate in immersive specialty camps, or join a multi-week wilderness expedition that emphasizes leadership, self-reliance, teamwork, and meaningful connection to the natural world.
Family Camps & Experiences
Sleepaway camp isn’t just for kids. Now you can bring your whole family to Wolf Ridge – and stay. Offered a few weeks each year, our family camp provides age-appropriate activities for everyone, from canoeing and rock climbing to nature crafts and naturalist-led hikes. You decide how to spend your time. We’ll provide warm meals, comfortable lodging, beautiful views, and nightly campfires.
Is your family looking for a way to experience the Boundary Waters or Apostle Islands, but you don’t know where to start?
Adult Learners
Whether you’re planning a trip to the North Shore, or live just down the road from campus, we offer a variety of classes for adults interested in learning more about the natural world, including popular bird banding classes for beginning, advanced, and student birders.
“Wolf Ridge is hands-down the absolute best staff and facility that I have ever known. Can’t beat the location!”
