    Spend a week with the Wolf Ridge Teacher Training Institute and fully immerse yourself in the practices of a naturalist. This hands-on summer workshop invites educators to study watersheds, participate in bird banding, explore Lake Superior’s shoreline, and develop foundational outdoor pedagogy skills. Through nature journaling and experiential learning, participants gain tools to transform their approach to outdoor education. No prior experience is required, and family-friendly options make it possible to extend the adventure beyond the classroom.

Visitors can watch the banding process, learn about bird research, and observe these beautiful birds up close. Sessions are held on summer mornings at the Forest Ecology Building, free and open to all ages. Banding is canceled on rainy days.
