Directions to Wolf Ridge
Drop-In Visitors
The public is welcome to use our trails throughout the year, but we are not a public nature center. We ask that all drop-in visitors and non-registered guests check in with our main office inside the Administration Building when they arrive.
When You Arrive
We have a very long driveway. Please drive slow and follow it until the very end. You’ll see signs directing you where to park and how to find our Administration building, which is located across from the parking lot down a well-marked trail.
Where is Wolf Ridge?
We’re located in Finland, Minnesota, on Minnesota’s scenic North Shore. Our campus is approximately four hours from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport and two hours from the Canadian border. Our main campus is a 10-minute drive from Lake Superior and Highway 61.
From Duluth, Minnesota
Follow Highway 61 approximately 66 miles north of Duluth to County Road 6 in Little Marais. There is a brown sign marking the turn to Wolf Ridge. Turn Left on County Road 6. Travel three miles to the Wolf Ridge driveway (Cranberry Road). Follow the driveway three miles to the ridgetop.
From Minneapolis/St. Paul
We’re located approximately four hours from Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport. Take I-35 North from the Twin Cities to Duluth, Minnesota. Follow directions from Duluth.
From Grand Forks, North Dakota
Take US-2 East to Duluth, Minnesota. Follow US-2 as it joins MN-194. Take a slight right onto Miller Trunk Highway/US-53 South/MN-194 East. Turn Right on to Trinity Road/US-53 South. Take the I-35 North ramp. Follow directions from Duluth.
From Eau Claire, Wisconsin
Take US-53 North into Superior, Wisconsin. Cross over the high bridge into Duluth, Minnesota, and merge onto I-35 North. Follow directions from Duluth.
