Michael Plautz, a founder of the internationally acclaimed architect firm, RSP Architects based in Minneapolis, MN, served as a board member of Wolf Ridge for 12 years.
As an architect, he designed Wolf Ridge’s Forest Ecology Building, Summit Lodge, and the Pichotta Science Center. His designs included the first major commitments to renewable energy and other sustainable technologies on campus, from our first large-scale solar power generation to composting toilets, and a wind turbine.
Michael and Gloria Plautz have been generous supporters in many areas of Wolf Ridge operations, including the largest single gift received for Wolf Ridge’s Endowment Fund. Many friends of Michael and Gloria’s honored them by making additional generous gifts after his death in 2012. They’ve created a legacy of commitment to teaching our future generations how to interact more responsibly and safeguard our natural resources for future generations.
The gifts of Michael and his wife, Gloria, to Wolf Ridge have been so immense you cannot walk the trails of the Wolf Ridge campus without seeing the imprint of their generosity.
