Wolf Ridge Sampler Weekends for Adults

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to paddle a Montreal Canoe and stay in an encampment like it was the 1750’s? On this trip, we’ll seek out north woods wildlife and plant life with a naturalist, hike to an overlook on the Superior Hiking Trail, and more!

Saw-whet Owl Banding

Discover the “unseen migration” that takes place along the Lake Superior corridor during fall’s star-filled nights. Spend a fall weekend banding Saw-whet owls with Dave Grosshuesch, one of the area’s most respected banders.

North Shore Geology Explorations

Do you look for interesting rocks on every beach or gravel road and want to discover their story? Are you an agate or Thomsonite seeker? Perhaps you wonder about all those rock faces you see as you drive north on Highway 61? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this weekend workshop with recognized North Shore geology expert Margie Menzies is for you!

North Shore Coastal Kayaking

Expand your sea kayaking skills, explore beautiful places, and learn from ACA-certified instructor David Butcher. This workshop is designed primarily for new, beginning, to advanced-beginning sea kayakers who are looking to learn and/or practice essential skills for coastal sea kayaking, gain confidence with paddling on larger bodies of water, and explore the beautiful and diverse landscape of the North Shore.

Agate Hunting and Finishing

The Lake Superior Agate is beautiful, elusive, and enigmatic. Learn tricks to finding them from the expert who literally wrote the book on it, Jim Magnuson. You’ll also receive instruction and time to use professional lapidary tools to cut, shape, polish, and set your new-found gem.

Youth Mental Health First Aid Certification

As a provider of accredited school programs and youth camps, we see about 13,000 kids each year. Most of our participants arrive excited and ready to learn, but others are silently struggling. One in five youth ages 13 to 18 lives with a mental health condition and we want to be there for them as well.
