This one-week camp session is a great introductory trip for campers looking to experience backpacking along Minnesota’s famous Superior Hiking Trail. It’s considered to be one of the country’s best hiking trails is well known for its natural beauty and is an ideal place to begin experiencing wilderness tripping and backpacking. Experience the striking beauty of the North Shore, from wide-open vistas and high ridgelines to lush forests and beautiful waterfalls. Celebrate a successful trip by relaxing and rock picking on the shore of Lake Superior.
Designed to introduce campers to the world of backpacking and backcountry exploration, campers will travel an average of 5-8 miles a day along the Superior Hiking Trail. Campers learn how to pack for comfortable hiking with their gear, how to choose and set up camp, and cook delicious meals outdoors. No prior wilderness trip experience is required, but backpacking requires extra physical and mental grit, so come prepared to work and play hard! What to expect on a backpacking trip.

Wolf Ridge trips are lead by experienced wilderness guide/naturalists. Our trip leaders are professional wilderness travelers and are certified as Wilderness First Responders, and in CPR, and Wilderness Water Safety. Wolf Ridge trip leaders are also trained as naturalists, skilled in telling the stories of the wilderness landscape, from tree and animal identification to local history, and more.
