Overnight Camps

Credit Academy: Freshwater Ecology

Earn college or high school credit while conducting your own research project in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Present your results at camp when you return. If you are interested in exploring what it is like to be a field scientist, this is the camp for you. Three weeks.

Credit Academy: Wilderness Ethics

Earn college or high school credit while backpacking the wilderness trails of Isle Royale National Park. Investigate society’s evolving views of wilderness through the eyes of artists, writers, and ecologists. Create and share personal art or writing that represents your current environmental and wilderness ethic. Two weeks.

Ornithology Field Camp

Experience the exciting world of bird research while spending time in the field with professional ornithologists, bird banding, and more. One week.


Camp/Wilderness Trip Combos

2-week Jr. Naturalist Apostle Islands Kayak

Lake Superior is the theme of this action-packed sea kayaking trip to the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Six days in camp, eight days on the trail.

2-week Jr. Naturalist Quetico Canoe

Paddle canoes north into the ancient waters of Quetico Provincial Park. Six days in camp, eight days on the trail.


Wilderness Trips

Superior Service Learning

This program combines three key components: community service, hands-on learning, and adventure while spending time at both at Wolf Ridge and backpacking for 5-days on the Superior Hiking Trail.

Boundary Waters Traverse Canoe Expedition

Wolf Ridge’s longest trip and a once-in-a-lifetime wilderness trip for experienced campers. Four days in camp, seventeen days on the trail.
