Baptism River Skiing

For families and individuals with a sense of adventure!

Cross-country ski on Wolf Ridge’s beautiful Baptism River Ski trails and experience what makes winter in the Northland so special. It’s the perfect way to spend an afternoon together in our own corner of Lake Superior’s North Shore!

Our private Baptism River trail system has 3.6k of double-tracked, classic-groomed ski trails. The trails offer something for skiers of all skill levels, including beginners and young skiers. Meander through coniferous and deciduous forests, check out views of the Baptism River valley below, and practice your skiing technique. You’ll encounter lots of animal signs along the way too!

Equipment and Instruction

Ski equipment and instruction are included for those looking to improve their skills. After being fitted with boots, skis, and poles, your naturalist will teach a brief ski lesson demonstrating the basics of successful cross-country skiing. After that, explore the trails and practice your skiing technique on your own, or ski with the naturalist for more lessons and to learn about the ecology of winter’s plants and animals.
