The Lake Superior Agate is beautiful, elusive, and enigmatic. Learn tricks to finding them from the expert who literally wrote the book on it, Jim Magnuson. You’ll also receive instruction and time to use professional lapidary tools to cut, shape, polish, and set your newfound gem.

 

Saw-whet Owl Banding

Discover the “unseen migration” that takes place along the Lake Superior corridor during fall’s star-filled nights. Spend a fall weekend banding Saw-whet owls with Dave Grosshuesch, one of the area’s most respected banders.

I.B.P. Bird Banding Courses

We are excited to offer Institute for Bird Populations courses for bird banders. Both Beginning and Advanced Courses will be offered. Classes fill quickly, so be sure to register early! Summer 2022 dates are yet to be finalized. They typically take place at the end of June/beginning of July.  Ask to be notified when registration opens.

 

Leave No Trace Master Educator

Wild places are one of our greatest resources.  Learn new ways to protect our wild inheritance and teach others how to enjoy them responsibly by becoming a Leave No Trace Master Educator. Register for this class through the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS.)
