Program Director

Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center is seeking an experienced education leader who builds equitable, inclusive, and diverse teams and has demonstrated success in the management and innovative delivery of environmental education programs. This role serves on the organization’s leadership team as well as the internal and external voice for education, instructional design, and learning strategies of one of the largest accredited environmental learning centers in the nation.  This position leads a team of 9 year round staff and dozens more who seasonally deliver nationally-acclaimed environmental education programming to audiences from K-12 children to collegiate graduate students, totaling more than 12,000/year.  Wolf Ridge programs are conducted on a 2000-acre main campus with a 400-bed facility and a 68-acre Lake Superior Field Station, all located in northeastern Minnesota.

Established in 1971, Wolf Ridge was the first environmental learning center (ELC) in the country to be accredited as a K-12 school. We’re recognized nationally and internationally as a leader in environmental education.  Our experienced naturalists work with school groups looking for outdoor, hands-on learning. We offer over 50+ lessons that build awareness, curiosity, and sensitivity to the natural world. In the process, we promote self-awareness and leadership. Wolf Ridge operations are conducted on a 2,000-acre main campus in Finland, Minnesota with a 400-bed facility, along with a 68-acre Lake Superior campus just down the road.
