Kits Out and About!

With every day here at Wolf Ridge it becomes clear that spring is here! The ravens on the ridge are caring for their young, and the beavers are doing the same. At the ridge, we have three different beaver lodges, each sporting some adorable new kits. This last week while running along the Wolf Lake trail, Marie and I disrupted a young beaver in the middle of eating. We watched as he slowly crawled away from us towards the water. Once he made it to the water he speedily swam away towards home-the lodge near the voyageur site dock on Wolf Lake. After some exploring, we found a pile of sticks that this youngster had been nibbling on. All the bark had been scraped off with baby beaver teeth!
