Fabulous Fall Geek Out: Fish of the North Shore
September 30 @ 3:00 pm - October 2 @ 1:30 pm
$450
Spend a glorious fall weekend on the North Shore of Minnesota gaining hands-on experience and learning from experts in their field.
Workshops take place on the Wolf Ridge campus and surrounding areas, with lodging and meals provided. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or just a curious learner, the experience is designed for lifelong learners who have a passion for the natural world. Participants select a single workshop for the weekend but will have an opportunity to connect with other workshop groups during meals and evening programming.
Workshop: Fish of the North Shore
In the course, we will be looking at fish behavior, conservation of our amazing Minnesota species, and how to get into fishing them without breaking the bank. Learning how fish act, where they tend to congregate, and how to handle them. We will focus on fishing techniques to catch fish from shore and canoes, as well as different equipment and technology available to help us find and catch more fish on the forgotten or ignored lakes of the Arrowhead region.
Instructor: Charlie Pavlisich
Charles Pavlisich was born in Duluth Minnesota and has lived on the North Shore of Lake Superior all his life. He learned to fish from his father at quite a young age and grew up on tales of fishing up in the Boundary Waters. Naturally, Charlie bought a canoe before he bought his first car and has been paddling ever since. There are many different ways to fish, but he fell in love with fishing from a canoe and from shore. You can get to so many remote places and explore many waters often ignored by other anglers. After spending his youth learning from his dad, and over a decade of boundary waters and canoeing on his own he’s picked up quite a few tips and tricks along the way!
