This 2-week camp session is a great fit for campers looking to experience both the fun and energy of Wolf Ridge summer camp and the adventure of canoe camping in Minnesota’s legendary Boundary Waters Wilderness.
Seven days of camp fun along with seven days of canoeing into the heart of Minnesota’s Boundary Waters. Get ready for your trip with activities like rock climbing, weather, and traditional canoe paddle making, then take off for a 7-day canoeing trek across the lakes and forests of the BWCAW. Groups will enter near the southern boundary of the wilderness and spend seven days paddling and portaging along some of the many routes through this unique and famous area. Return to the Ridge with weathered paddles, great stories, new friends, and sharpened wilderness skills.
Designed to introduce campers to the world of paddling a canoe and water navigation, campers will explore an average of 5-8 miles a day in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Campers learn how and what to pack, how to choose and set up camp, and cook delicious meals outdoors. No prior wilderness camping experience is required to attend, a great trip for campers looking to experience both Wolf Ridge summer camp and an entry-level wilderness trip experience. Wolf Ridge trips are lead by experienced wilderness guide/naturalists. Our trip leaders are professional wilderness travelers and are certified as Wilderness First Responders, and in CPR, and Wilderness Water Safety. Wolf Ridge trip leaders are also trained as naturalists, skilled in telling the stories of the wilderness landscape, from tree and animal identification to local history, and more.
