Students will learn the history and meaning of an Ojibwe cultural activity called Woodland Art.  Woodland Art is also know as legend painting and uses symbolism to depict the relationships between humans and animals. Students will use this information to create their own x-ray drawing, which will later become part of a large-scale collage to tell a story of their own choosing.

Upon completion of the Woodland Art evening activity, students will be able to:

  • Understand the origin and meaning of Woodland Art.
  • Understand an interpretation of a Woodland Art painting.
  • Create and share a representation of a familiar story.
