Road Scholar: Grandparent/Grandchild

Road Scholar Intergenerational Programs are designed for grandparents and their grandchildren (ages 8-12.) What’s more rewarding than passing on your love of lifelong learning and being outdoors? Teaching a younger adventurer to love it, too. Share your passion for educational travel with a grandchild and create memories that will last for a lifetime.

Summer Grand Adventure

Spend a week with your grandchild enjoying and learning about Minnesota’s beautiful northwoods.

Housing and Meals

A place to kick back and relax.

Families will be housed in our East Dorm. Each room sleeps up to eight family members, with bathrooms and showers in the rooms. A great room features plenty of room for games and windows that overlook the beauty of the northwoods forests. Each set of grandparents and grandchildren share a room. You will not be sharing with another family – just you and your grandchild.

Fuel for your imagination.

Whether they’re coming in from a long day outside, or getting ready for the day, Road Scholars can satisfy their appetites in the Lake Superior Dining Room. Here, they’ll enjoy the range of delicious menu options, much of it picked that day from our organic farm just down the hill.

Our kitchen staff regularly works with participants to meet allergy and dietary concerns. Requests for special dietary concerns must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance of arrival for planning purposes. Click on “Resources” (top menu, to the right) for more information.  Vegetarians can indicate their preference when completing camp registration.
