When you arrive, park in one of the lots and walk up to the office. We’ll set you up with a map and a few suggestions on places to visit and see what’s going on.
We’ll point you toward some of our beautiful overlooks, interesting interpretive displays, and let you know if it’s possible to meet the raptors, Thistle the porcupine, and the large aquarium featuring fish of the north woods lakes. For those seeking a bit more adventure, we’d be glad to recommend hiking, skiing, or snowshoe trails. If there are classes and activities going on that day, we’ll let you know which are open to visitors wandering by.
Please note that the Adventure Ropes, indoor rock climbing wall, and outdoor equipment use are available only to visiting groups with advance reservations. If you are interested in bringing your group of 12 or more to Wolf Ridge, you’ll find more information about making a group reservation here.
During the summer, drop-in visitors are welcome at our annual June Open House and at MAPS Bird Banding on specific June and July mornings. These events are free.
