In the morning…     November-snow-before

Later that day… November-snowfall-after

Over the course of one day we went from zero to four inches of snow! Wolf Ridge has been transformed into a winter wonder land. This snow fell before the ground froze creating a warm layer between the ground and the snow. This layer is great for small mammals to hide from predators. It also helps them to stay warm and hydrated in the cold dry winter because of the humidity trapped in the leaf layer. Be sure to check the snow for animal tracks and signs!
