Imagine this. You and your family are exploring Wolf Lake in a canoe by morning, investigating the geology of Marshall Mountain in the afternoon before leisurely heading back to the cozy East dorm for a little R & R in the evening, or perhaps a bit of rock-climbing on our indoor wall. And that’s just one possible day. Just think of what the rest of your week could be like.

Optional activities include:

  • Adventure ropes
  • Rock climbing
  • Orienteering
  • Ojibwe heritage
  • Voyageur life
  • Kayaking
  • Astronomy
  • Block printing
  • Canoeing
  • Games
  • Family picnic at Lake Superior
  • Campfire
  • Family folk dance
  • And much more!

A mix of family and age-based activities

  • Each morning, children and adults participate in age appropriate activities
  • Preschool aged children spend mornings with a naturalist who has both experience and a great love of working with young children
  • Older children spend time with a Wolf Ridge naturalist exploring and learning about the natural world
  • Adults have the option to participate in one of the many adventure or natural history classes taught each morning or they may choose to use that time to relax and read or take advantage of the many hiking trails and water recreation opportunities Wolf Ridge offers
  • Afternoons are spent participating in one of the many Wolf Ridge activity options with family members

Housing and Meals

A place to kick back and relax.

Families will be housed in our East Dorm. Each room sleeps up to eight family members, with bathrooms and showers in the rooms. A great room features plenty of room for games and windows overlook the beauty of the northwoods forests. Each family unit shares a room. Learn more about the East Dorm.

Fuel for your imagination.

We take great pride in our daily meals.  Whether families are coming in from a day spent outside, or getting ready for the day, everyone will find choices to satisfy their appetites in the Lake Superior Dining Room.  Enjoy the range of delicious menu options which includes local, organic or fresh foods from the Wolf Ridge farm.  A hot vegetarian alternative, fresh fruit and vegetables, locally made cheeses and  fresh baked breads, cakes and cookies are included with every meal and snack.

Our kitchen staff regularly works with participants to meet allergy and dietary concerns. Requests for special dietary concerns must be made a minimum of two weeks in advance of arrival for planning purposes. Click on “Resources” (top menu, to the right) for more information.  Vegetarians can indicate their preference when completing camp registration.
